HSK Hero is a focused vocabulary trainer for anyone serious about learning Chinese. No distractions, no subscriptions—just you and the words you need to know.

Multiple choice questions to test recognition and reinforce memory.

Visual indicators show how far you've come at each level.
Practise vocabulary the fun way with Hanzi Rain, a falling-words typing game.
Words alone won't make you fluent. That's why HSK Hero includes foundational grammar guides to help you understand how Chinese sentences actually work. Our Beginner Grammar section covers the essentials: the verb "to be," action verbs, indirect objects, and how to form questions.
These patterns form the backbone of everyday Chinese. Once you understand them, all that vocabulary you're learning starts clicking into place.
All six HSK levels are available, covering over 5,000 words from absolute beginner through to advanced fluency. Pick up wherever suits your ability and work through at your own pace.
By default, your progress is cached in your browser. There's nothing to set up—just open the site and start learning. As long as you don't clear your browser data, you'll pick up right where you left off.
If you'd like to keep your progress safe or access it across multiple devices, you can optionally sign in. Your data will sync to the cloud so it's never lost, even if you switch browsers or clear your cache.
Worth noting: Without signing in, clearing your browser's site data or switching devices will reset your progress. Signing in takes a few seconds and means you won't have to worry about that.
Learning Chinese opens up conversations with over a billion people and access to one of the world's oldest continuous cultures. It's challenging in the best way—each character carries meaning, each tone matters, and every small breakthrough feels earned.
HSK Hero won't make it easy. But it will make it organised, trackable, and maybe even a little bit addictive. The rest is up to you.
HSK Hero runs on bamboo, brushstrokes, and the occasional caffeine boost. If the site's saved you hours of grinding flashcards on rubbish apps, feel free to throw a coffee at it.
